Dr Jadis Blurton

Dr. Jadis Blurton is the Founding Director and Head of School at The Harbour School, Hong Kong, an award-winning progressive K-12 international school. She has been an advocate of alternative approaches to education since she was seven years old, and so she feels privileged to be living at a time when there are so many strong voices promoting innovation, inclusion, critical thinking, emotional growth and deeper learning in schools.

Jadis has a Ph.D. in Cognitive Developmental Psychology and Master’s Degrees in both Special Education and Psychology, is a Qualified Teacher in Hong Kong and a Certified Montessori Teacher (AMS). She is also a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the United States and a Registered Psychologist in Hong Kong. She has worked in the fields of Education, Child Psychology, Gifted Education and Educational Psychology for over forty years, practicing clinically with children and families as well as teaching at the university level and working with schools. She is also the Board Chairperson of The Children’s Institute of Hong Kong (TCI), a center for children with autism.

Jadis has worked and traveled all over the world, but has found her home in Hong Kong where she has lived for twenty-six years. She has seven children, plus or minus a few, a dog named Ben and a cat named Lucy Fur.
