Katie Tomlinson is currently the Head of Primary at British School Manila. She has been a Primary Headteacher for 15 years and a teacher for almost 30 years.
Whilst Katie is, and always will be, a Primary practitioner at heart, her role within school life has diversified into Leadership Development Coaching, Safeguarding, Transition and Curriculum Development.
As the parent of two teenagers, Katie is passionate about building and growing potential within children and young people whilst also concentrating on their wellbeing and positive mental health as they transit through the stages in their lives.
Katie was the Chair of the AIMS (Association of International Malaysian Schools) Primary Heads Network from August 2018 to July 2022; AIMS is a voluntary organisation which facilitates student and staff events, training and builds school collaboration. She was also one of the founding Network Leaders for WomenEd Malaysia. WomenEd is a global grassroots movement that connects aspiring and existing women leaders in education and gives women leaders a voice in education.
Katie has written a number of articles about Safeguarding, Transition, CPD and School Development for online education magazines, including TES International and International School Research Magazine and her latest project for Safeguarding (Student Centred Approaches) was shortlisted for an International School Award.
She was listed within the top 50 Edruptors Globally in 2021 by International Schools Research and operates as ‘the leadership coach’ on Facebook and Instagram.
