Johanna Cena

Johanna Cena, Ed.D. serves as the Director of Teaching and Learning at the American School of Barcelona. She also teaches the MTSS and RTIi in Inclusive Schools course for the Lead Inclusion, Inclusive Leadership Program. Johanna has been an elementary school principal and a Title 1/ELL Director in an Oregon public school district. During this time, Johanna was part of the Oregon RTI project team working with schools around the state and the U.S. to develop Response to Intervention Systems. As part of the project, her school was a demonstration site where school teams would come to observe and interact with Effective Behavior and Intervention Support (EBIS) systems in action. Johanna is currently exploring the successes and challenges of establishing and implementing MTSS in an international school setting.
