Alison Schofield is an author, consultant and Literacy Specialist. She is also the Co-Founder of the Centre for Educators of Bilingual & Multilingual Learnersa UK-based, global social enterprise. She has been working in education for 30 years. Alison initially started her career as a disability and behavioural therapist before training as a special education teacher in Canada.

Alison gained rich experiences working with indigenous children in Canada and she later moved to the UAE where she worked as an educator with local and international students. She was also a literacy specialist for many years, running intensive intervention programmes for bilingual and multilingual learners (BMLs). Alison also ran her own company with her colleague, and served as an educational consultant on several high-stakes, school improvement projects.

Through her work at the Centre for Educators of Bilingual & Multilingual Learners, Alison is focused on elevating the expertise of teachers across the globe. Her aim is to ensure BMLs are thriving in their schools while still maintaining their home languages and cultures.
