Dr Kate McMillan

Kate McMillan is a teacher, special educator, school counsellor, and advocate for inclusion, with 20 years’ experience in early years and educational settings. As Group Head of Inclusion and Safeguarding, Kate leads the strategic development of provision for Students of Determination across Aldar Education’s Academies, ADNOC and Charter schools.

She is an active member and contributor to initiatives and working groups with regulatory and government authorities, educators, families and Students of Determination to promote best practice and professional development, and advocate for enhanced and personalised educational pathways. Kate has Masters of Education in both Special Education and School Counselling, and her particular interest in adolescent mental health and wellbeing in the UAE, forms the basis of her current doctoral research.
