Dr Linda Rush

Dr Linda Rush is the Founding Senior Vice President of the Dubai based Institute of Teacher Learning and Leadership Development for All (TELLAL).

Dr Rush set-up TELLAL in 2016 as a dual language (Arabic English) training institute that positions teachers and leaders at the heart of their own continuous development of practice. It offers teacher and leadership training and facilitates best practice in schools throughout the UAE and globally. Its use of game-changing digital tools, technologies and online learning platforms offers a unique immersive learning  experience. Through TELLAL’s Global Advisory Board, Dr. Rush has ensured there are systems and processes in place to give confidence of the rigor and quality of its provision globally.

Previous to her role in TELLAL, Dr. Rush was the Head of Teacher Education and Director of Professional Learning at the University of Manchester where on leaving she was appointed Honorary Professorial Fellow. She has worked in a senior role at three other UK Universities and has over 10 years experience in schools. She was  the youngest headteacher in England at the time of her appointment in 1993. In all her practice Dr. Rush is committed to making explicit the relationship between teacher learning and leadership development and its impact on children’s learning. She has presented at numerous international conferences and has published widely on the future of teacher education. She has a particular interest in the importance of collaborative partnerships as a way of leveraging the maximum impact, at scale on systems and practice.
