Tom Hadcroft

Thomas Hadcroft is the current Senior Vice Principal of DLD College (Academic) in central London and joined them in August 2016, initially overseeing the boarding and pastoral areas of the College until last year. He is wholly committed to the wellbeing and mental health support of young people and can draw on a wealth of experience gained in both the UK and Internationally.

He was a Senior Housemaster at Collège Alpin Beau Soleil for five years, an international boarding school located in the Swiss Alps. Prior to this experience he worked for seven years as Deputy Boarding Housemaster and Head of Department at St John’s School, Leatherhead. Previous to that, he worked both in the UK and Europe in the education and finance sectors.

Thomas has led DLD College to a number of recent awards including Boarding School of Year and Independent School of the Year – special judges award, for the work on wellbeing. This was followed by receiving the inaugural ISA Award from Innovation in Pupil Voice, a highly commended finalist for the TES Independent Schools Awards in Wellbeing Initiative of the Year category and most recently the Wellbeing & Mental Health Initiative Award at the Boarding Schools’ Association 2021 Awards. DLD College became the first school in the UK to receive Gold status for the Boarding Schools Mental Health Award, organised by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence.

He has experience as an International School Accreditor for the Council of International Schools, he is a course tutor for the Boarding Schools’ Association, a Mental Health First Aid Youth instructor, a UK state school Governor and recently completed a Masters in Educational Leadership.
