Wendy Banks

Wendy joined Al Salam Private School in 2020 and now serves as Principal. She has been an educator for 18 years beginning with four years of intensive training as a Primary Teacher at Manchester Metropolitan University before taking on the role of homeroom teacher in an inner city school. In 2012 she moved to the UAE and joined the School of Research Science, Dubai, where she started as a Middle Leader and quickly progressed to Assistant Head Teacher. She was instrumental in leading significant school improvement to Teaching, Assessment and Curriculum as Vice Principal at the International School of Creative Science.

Wendy’s passions and areas of expertise include Reading, Phonics, Visible Learning, Teaching to the Top and Curriculum Design. Her mission is to nurture a generation of avid readers, deep thinkers and assessment capable learners.
