The Strategic Case for Project-Based Learning

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is no longer a fringe pedagogical approach. For many leading schools around the world, it has become a strategic decision - one tied to long-term relevance, student outcomes, and future-ready learning.

As expectations of education continue to shift, school leaders are increasingly asking deeper questions:

  • How do we design learning that builds creativity, resilience and problem-solving?
  • How do we move beyond content delivery to meaningful application?
  • And how do we embed PBL in a way that is intentional, sustainable and aligned with school vision?
In this CPD-accredited session, Outstanding Schools convened a global panel of education leaders and practitioners from Riyadh, New York and Bangalore to explore the strategic case for Project-Based Learning. The panel explored not just how it works in theory, but how it is being implemented in real schools, with real constraints and real impact.

The conversation moved beyond pedagogy to address leadership decisions, implementation challenges, and the practical realities of embedding PBL at scale.
