Overview

The Scottish Government has made improving mental wellbeing in schools a national priority. In April 2017, the Government launched its new ten-year Mental Health Strategy, with a specific commitment to review mental health support for children and young people.

As the number of pupils and teaching staff suffering from mental health illnesses continues to rise, it has become essential for schools to support emotional wellbeing and prevent poor mental health becoming a barrier to achievement.

This Supporting Mental Wellbeing in Schools training course is designed to give you the knowledge to overcome the challenges of implementing a successful whole school approach to mental wellbeing.

Attend to learn how to effectively support pupil and staff wellbeing, embed wellbeing into personal social education (PSE) lessons and create an action plan for creating an inclusive strategy for implementing wellbeing in your school.
